Demonstration disclosure

Cedarline Home Services is a fictional company. This site exists for software demonstration purposes.

It is not a real contractor. There is no yard in Morrisville, no crew, and no van. The phone numbers, the email addresses, the licence numbers and the street address are formatted to look real and are not. Nobody will answer the emergency line, no appointment you request will be attended, and no estimate will be sent.

Everything else on this site is written as though the company were real, because the point of the demonstration is to show what a well structured trades website looks like and how accurately software can answer questions from it. The prices, the hours, the coverage and the policies are internally consistent and behave like real ones. They describe nobody.

If you reached this page looking for a contractor in the Triangle, we are sorry: this is not one.

What these terms cover

These terms cover your use of this website. Because the company is fictional, they cannot cover work, payment or warranty, and the sections that would normally do so are on the warranty page as a description of what such terms would say.

A request is not an appointment

This is the one thing on the site that would matter most if the company were real, and it is written the same way either way.

Submitting the booking form, the estimate form or the contact form sends us a request. It is not a confirmed appointment. There is no database behind this site holding a slot for you, and no scheduling system reserving crew time. The arrival windows shown on this site are computed from published hours and crew capacity to show what is typically available; they are not held for you and they are not a promise.

A real appointment would exist only after a person called you back and confirmed it. The site says this everywhere it takes a submission, and it says it because a website that implies otherwise is lying to somebody who is standing in a flooded kitchen.

Accuracy

We publish specific figures rather than vague ones, and we keep them in one place each so they cannot contradict each other. They can still be out of date. Every content file on this site carries the date it was last reviewed, and the figure that governs is the one on the page rather than one quoted back to you from anywhere else.

Prices shown are typical ranges, not quotes. A quote is a document a person produces after seeing the work.

Using this site

You may read, quote, cite and link to anything published here, including from an automated system. The site publishes /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt precisely so that a machine can read it accurately rather than guessing, and robots.txt allows every major crawler by name. That is a deliberate decision rather than an oversight.

What you may not do is impersonate the company, present this content as your own, or use it to represent that a real contractor made a commitment.

Intellectual property

The site design, the written content, the photographs and the diagrams are the work product of the demonstration and belong to whoever commissioned it. No manufacturer, certification body or trade association mark appears anywhere on this site, and none of the brands named in the text are affiliated with it.

Liability

Since no work is performed and no payment is taken, there is nothing to be liable for. Were this a real trading company, this section would set out limits of liability, and it would not be permitted to limit liability for injury or for anything the law does not allow to be limited.

Governing law

Were this a real company, North Carolina law would govern.

Changes

The effective date at the top of this page is when this version took effect. Changes are recorded in content/CHANGELOG.md in the repository, alongside every other change to a published fact.
