Second summer running they have kept a fifteen year old system going rather than pushing me into a replacement I cannot afford this year. They told me plainly what will fail next and roughly what it will cost when it does. That is the reason I keep calling them.

Called at seven in the morning with no cooling and a house already at eighty six. The technician was here inside the window I was given, found a failed capacitor, had the part on the van and was done before lunch. The diagnostic came off the bill when I approved the repair, exactly as the website said it would.

The installation itself was excellent and the crew left the utility room cleaner than they found it. My complaint is the wait: I was told two weeks for the equipment and it was closer to three, and I had to ring twice to find that out rather than being told. Everything since has been right, and the system is quiet.

    Our response

Thank you Harriet, and you are right about the delay. Your condenser was a special order size for the pad clearance you have and we knew that on day one, but we quoted a two week lead time on the equipment and it came in at three. We should have called you the day the supplier moved the date rather than waiting for you to ask. The install crew hit their schedule and I am glad the work itself was good. The spring tune-up found a cracked condensate line that would have flooded the closet by July. Written report with photographs, sent the same afternoon. Worth it for the report alone.

No heat on the coldest night of the winter with a newborn in the house. They came out after hours, told me the call-out fee before they dispatched rather than after, and had the ignitor replaced within the hour. Nobody tried to sell me a new furnace at eleven at night.

Heat pump was running constantly in auxiliary heat and my bill showed it. They found a reversing valve fault, explained what that actually means in language I could follow, and had it sorted in a single visit.

About these reviews

Where these come from

Every review on this page was left by a customer we invoiced. We do not filter them by rating, we do not remove one because it stings, and the average you see on this site is calculated from this file rather than typed in by hand.

Why the low ones are still here

Three of these are not five stars, and each of the three names something we got wrong: an equipment lead time we did not pass on, dust containment we should have specified from the start, and an insurance claim where we did not explain our own limits clearly enough at the first visit. All three are answered in public, by name, by the person responsible for fixing it.

A wall of five star reviews tells you nothing except that somebody curated the wall. What is useful is seeing what happens when a job goes sideways, because that is the part you cannot predict when you choose a contractor.

How to leave one
