We do not cover Hillsborough

Cedarline does not work in Hillsborough. Not scheduled work, and not emergencies either. The nearest city we do cover is Durham, about fifteen miles south-east.

This page exists because an absence is not an answer. Hillsborough is in Orange County, it is unmistakably part of the Triangle, and we cover Durham and Chapel Hill on either side of it. Anyone would reasonably assume we come here. Leaving that to be worked out from a map you are not on is how people end up ringing at eleven at night about a burst pipe and finding out then.

Why not

We are not close enough to run scheduled work reliably from Morrisville, and we are not close enough to hold to any emergency response time we would be willing to publish. Our slowest published emergency target is 120 minutes, and we could not meet it here on a bad night. A target we cannot hit is worse than no service at all, because you would stop looking for someone who could actually come.

We have no plan to change this. If that changes, this page changes with it.

What to do instead

For anything urgent, call a contractor based in Orange County or in Mebane. Hillsborough is well served locally and a firm ten minutes away will beat one forty minutes away on every metric that matters to you at two in the morning.

Two things worth knowing when you ring whoever you choose. Ask whether they are licensed for the specific trade, because North Carolina licenses plumbing, electrical and general contracting separately and a firm may hold one and not another. And ask what their emergency response time actually is at night, as opposed to their advertised one. Those are the two questions we would want a customer to ask us.

If you were a customer before

We have never taken scheduled work in Hillsborough, so this is unlikely, but if we installed something at an address here as part of a job elsewhere, the warranty on that equipment stands and we will honour it. Ring the office rather than booking online. We will arrange the visit as a one-off exception, and it does not change the general position.

One boundary worth checking

Zip code 27278 covers Hillsborough and a good deal of surrounding rural Orange County. If your address is at the southern edge, closer to Durham than to the town, run the zip lookup and then ring the office with the full address. The lookup answers by zip code, and a zip code is a postal convenience rather than a boundary drawn around what we can reach. It is worth two minutes to be certain.
